I originally got this idea from
Patty at Deep Space Sparkle. I decided it would be a great starter in Art this year for 4th graders. They learned about block letters, reviewed line design, and created their Name Pile art on a white 12x18 paper.
The final touch was cutting it out, and pasting onto any background color of their choice. I think they look scrumptious :)

I did this project too, but I didn't cut them out and put them on colored paper. Nice! I just took pictures of some of mine today so might get to posting them this weekend. Thanks for all your inspiration. I'm a first year (although I got my teaching degree long ago) teacher and I get such great inspiration from art teacher blogs!
Very cool!

SUCH A SWEET PROJECT KATE! I would honestly do this for a design project for fun...such a great result.
This is a good drawing for a little child I can see that he is going to have excellent abilities, I hope he can be a perfect painter.
