Wayne Thiebaud and Printmaking, 3rd Grade
I wanted to teach the kids about printmaking. I wanted to teach the kids about an artist. They are always so interested in drawing yummy things. So, who better to teach them about then Wayne Thiebaud?! Some of their prints turned out so good. In the final project (which you won't see today) the students have selected their favorite 4 prints and arranged them the way you'd see a pop artist do so. I'm excited about them, so I want to give a preview. Happy Monday!

Christen, They are just the foam stamping paper, that you use a pencil to make an indent. Easy, easy!

You said you used foam stamping paper. i'm not sure what that is. Do you use a brayer to roll your paint on? Did you use tempera? Loved the prints!

You can get the foam printing paper from catalogs and such like dick blick or other art supply stores like Sax.

I have been told that if you are on a tight budget that the foam trays meat sometimes comes on can be used the same way.
Thanks for all your ideas, we just did lino block printing today with only minimal injuries (my son slipped, and only now realises the reason I teach them to do things a certain way it so they don’t get hurt)
