Insect Printmaking, 4th Grade

I really had no idea how big of a hit printmaking would be. It takes a lot of work on the teachers part, as far as prep and clean up goes-but when hearing comments like, "This is the best day of art ever!"...it makes it all worth it.

I love the board in front of them - ink goes HERE! I teach art in Maryland, but I love getting ideas from other art teachers! My school site is www.ccps.org/teachers/clinton (not that I've updated it in a while!)

I love your blog. I volunteer to do art for k-4 in my two sons' classrooms on two days each week, so I am busy trying to get ideas for that span of ages. I did k-2 last year and ended up mostly "crafty" seasonal stuff, but for 3-4 I want to try printmaking. I have done various monoprints in my own art, but wondered what kind of plate did you have them use, and how did you have them carve the relief?? Thanks for any advise. Neither I or the school have much budget for art, so pretty common materials are what we use.

What did you use for the plates? These are great! Thanks!

Pretty cool site you've got here. Thanx for it. I like such themes and anything that is connected to this matter. I definitely want to read more on that blog soon.

Best wishes

It would be great if you gave some particulars on HOW TO. Thanks for considering that.
