Kissy Fish, 1st Grade

I needed something fun and quick for a valentines day project for the kids in 1st grade. I actually found this idea on a paper company's website. I tweaked it a bit, and we added some cute sayings to the top, such as:

"Hooked on You"
"Fishing 4 Love?"
"Kissy Fishy"
...the list went on.

I liked this project because it helped them more with detailed cutting, and gluing. We are always practicing glue control in 1st grade, as many of you know.

They added borders for some extra fun.

Self Portraits, by 1st Grade

I love doing self portraits with the kids at this age, because we are able to break them of their bad habits of drawing people at a young age. The best part is that we do a before picture, and the after is an amazing difference. The kids feel so confident in their artwork.
